I've known a lot of people who had a huge weight on their shoulders because they felt like they had to live up to their parent's unrealistic religious standards. When they couldn't live up to them, or gave up pretending that they were, they weren't really accepted anymore. Even if it was unspoken which is just as bad.
People that can push through losing their relationship with their family over such bullshit impress me.

lyrics
You have paid your dues over
Yet you carry the weight of a mission bell
Such a weight upon your shoulders
Still your eyes burn through the clouds
You are loved but it's held ransom
Until you've done your father proud
You feel like a fading passion
Still your eyes burn through the clouds
